New Delhi: A segment of under construction Wazirabad-Janakpuri Bridge collapsed and fell on a busy road in Pitampura area on Thursday morning.
As per Police reports at least three people suffered serious injuries while two cars parked was heavily damaged.
The incident was reported around 11 am when a concrete block holding a joint was being hauled by crane.
According to reports, the pillar fell on a vehicle, injuring all three passengers.
"Three people have been injured and two cars are damaged," said a police officer at the scene.
The injured were rushed to hospital in the area and a team of fire tenders and disaster management officials have been rushed to the spot.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the straps holding the block snapped. A case of negligence has been registered at the Mangolpuri police station and Police are looking for the contractor of the site who fled after the incident.
