Ahmedabad, July 18 : Two-year-old Hrithika was playing on the fourth floor staircase of Padmavati Building in Paldi, Ahmedabad on July 13, while her parents were busy watching the latest news of Mumbai blasts on TV, when the unimaginable happened.
Hrithika was sliding down the staircase railing, when she suddenly lost her balance and hurtled towards the ground.
It was sheer luck that a saviour in the form of a homemaker named Parul Seth was standing in the balcony on the second floor. She though it was raining and to check it out, she had stretched both her hands out, and suddenly a girl fell on her hands.
The break in the girl's fall cut down the velocity, and as the baby touched the ground, she had a minimal head injury. Hrithika was rushed to the hospital, from where she was discharged two days later.
Says Hrithika's father Birju Shah: "I still can't believe it. It is all God's will, a miracle no less."
Says Parul Seth: "I never imagined in my dreams ever that I would save a baby like this. Unimaginable."
