Barabanki, UP, March 10: Two persons were killed when a barricade suddenly gave away and fell on them during the early morning 'jalabhishek' (pouring of water and milk on Shiva lingam) at the Lodheshwar Mahadev temple here in Ram Nagar.
One devotee was injured. Lakhs of devotees congregate at this temple annually to celebrate Mahashivratri.
As devotees scrambled to inch their way ahead for the "jalabhishek", the barricade suddenly gave away and fell on devotees standing below.
One of the dead has been identified as Kiranpal from Kanpur.
