Twelve persons electrocuted as high tension wire falls on bus in UP

Fatehpur, UP, Oct 23: Twelve persons, including the bus driver and conductor, were electrocuted to death when a high tension electric cable fell on a private bus  at Amauli bus stand near Jehanabad in Fatehpur district today.



 

The bus (no. UP78 B3215) was packed with passengers homebound to celebrate Dussehra tomorrow.  

78 passengers had paid for their bus tickets.  As soon as the bus started, a high-tension wire suddenly fell on the vehicle, and within seconds, most of the passengers were electrocuted.  

Some of the passengers fell out of the bus due to strong electric shock.  

The mishap took place between 3:30 pm and 4 pm, and bystanders were horrified to see people dying in front of them.  

Those seriously injured were rushed to Fatehpur and Kanpur district hospitals.  

The district administration refused to disclose the exact number of casualties.
