Ghaziabad: A train carrying BJP leader and MP Varun Gandhi to Ranikhet took a wrong track and reached the goods godown instead of the platform here, railway officials said on Thursday.
The BJP leader lodged a protest with the railway officials saying there could have been an attempt to hijack the train, they said. Gandhi, who was travelling in the Ranikhet Express train from Delhi, reached the wrong track last night due to negligence of railway staff, they said. The train was to arrive at platform number one last night but reached the godown.
Luckily, there was no other train on the track. Railway officials ruled out the possibility of any mischief. PTI
