New Delhi: Commuters on National Highway-24 may face some inconvenience Tuesday because of traffic diversion due to a protest by some religious groups, said a Delhi Police advisory on Monday.
The advisory was issued as there is a possibility of some Muslim protesters staging a demonstration at several places against acquisition of Karbala land in Jor Bagh area of south Delhi.
'In view of the anticipated protest by some people belonging to a religious group on NH-24 tomorrow (Tuesday), suitable diversions shall be made depending on the situation and location,' said Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Shukla.
'All types of vehicles moving in both carriageways from Ghazipur flyover to Uttar Pradesh border may face diversion,' he said.
'Traffic coming from Outer Ring Road NH-24 T-point to Ghazipur will be diverted to UP link road at Akshardham Setu to go to Noida while traffic coming from Pusta Road - Vikas Marg to Ghazipur will be allowed to go straight to Noida Gate,' the advisory said.
Traffic coming from Mother Dairy Road in Delhi will be diverted towards Hindon canal road in Ghaziabad.
