Tourists flock to hills as Himachal experiences rains, snowfall

Shimla: Heavy rains lashed the plains and hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh, causing snowfall in Kullu, Manali and other tourist resorts.

 
A large number of tourists from the plains of Delhi, Chandigarh and Punjab have begun to flock to Himachal Pradesh to experience the season's first snowfall.
 
Minimum temperature in Shimla, Solan, Kasauli, Chail, Kufri and Naldehra hovered between 3 and 3.2 degree Celsius.  The upper reaches of Lahaul and Spiti, including Keylong, registered minus 3 deg Celsius.
 
A large number of tourists in cars and SUVs flocked to fuel pumps on the Chandigarh-Shimla highway to fill up their tanks in order to enjoy the season's first snowfall this weekend.
