PM Modi meets trade union leaders, hear their views on eco policy

New Delhi: On the eve of the 46th Indian Labour Conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met leaders of central trade unions and heard their views on economic policy and labour laws.

The Prime Minister's meeting followed an extensive consultations which the trade union leaders held with an inter-ministerial panel headed by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

BCCI to constitute a working group to study the Lodha Committee verdict

New Delhi:  The IPL  Governing Council met in Mumbai today and deliberated on the order passed by the Lodha Committee. BCCI said that it respects the verdict of Lodha Commission and will abide by their decision.

The members recognised that there is an urgent need to understand the impact of this decision and the wider ramifications for BCCI in detail, so as to uphold the paramountcy of the game in our country.

BJP decides to brazen it out over Raje, Sushma, Chouhan issues

New Delhi:  Setting the tone for the upcoming Monsoon session, BJP today decided against being defensive over the controversies related to Sushma Swaraj, Vasundhara Raje and Shivraj Singh Chouhan and would brazen it out in Parliament which is set to be stormy over these issues.

BJP chief Amit Shah held strategy meetings with various party colleagues, including union ministers Arun Jaitley, Swaraj, Smriti Irani, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Piyush Goyal as well as party spokespersons during which Raje, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, was also present.

Delhi gets first ‘Aam Aadmi Clinic', CM says 1000 more in line

New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today inaugurated the first ‘Aam Aadmi Clinic' at Peeragarhi Relief Camp in West Delhi, and said that his government would set up 1,000 such facilities within a year, as announced in its maiden budget, to make primary health care more accessible to people.

“This clinic has been set up at a very low cost, it has been set up at a cost of around Rs 15-20 lakh, whereas earlier a dispensary used to cost much higher.

India lose to Zimbabwe by 10 runs in 2nd T20I

Harare:  India's quest to maintain a clean slate in their short cricket tour of Zimbabwe went up in smoke as they suffered a 10-run loss to the hosts in the second and final Twenty20 international here today.

Chasing 146 for win, India were looking down the barrel at 69 for five in nine overs. Stuart Binny (24) and debutant Sanju Samson (19) played cameos, but the visitors still fell short at the Harare Sports Club.
