It was a "calibrated" decision to send Minister of State for External Affairs Gen. (retd.) V.K. Singh to Pakistan Day celebrations here, a government spokesperson said on Wednesday."He (V.K. Singh) went there as a government representative. He was not the first MoS to go and not the last. There is a carefully calibrated decision which was taken well in time," external affairs ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said.
Govt may issue 're-ordinance' on land bill: Birender Singh
The government is likely to make another effort for a consensus on the land bill with opposition parties and may issue a "re-ordinance", Union Minister Birender Singh on Wednesday said.
"We are thinking to make one more attempt and talk to other political parties so that we may have a consensus. As everyone is aware Land Acquisition Ordinance will expire on April 5, may be we will have to issue re-ordinance," the Union Rural Development Minister said addressing a news conference here.

Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav's son Shailesh, whose name had figured in the multi-crore Vyapam scam, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his official residence here today. The body of Shailesh was found on the floor of his room. Police said the exact cause of the death could not be ascertained immediately.
Navy's Dornier aircraft with 3 on board crashes into sea off Goa coast
A Dornier aircraft of Indian Navy crashed last night into sea about 25 nautical miles south-west off Goa.
The incident took place at around 11 pm. The aircraft was on a routine training mission with three personnel on board.
While one personnel has been rescued, two others -- a Captain and an Observer -- are still missing.
Coal Scam: Manmohan Singh moves Supreme Court challenging summons
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today approached the Supreme Court contending a trial court's decision to summon him as an accused in a coal scam case.
