Modi-Sharif talks: Mumbai terror trial to be expedited
Ufa (Russia): India and Pakistan on Friday agreed to expedite the trial of the 26/11 Mumbai attack, hold a meeting of their National Security Advisors and to cooperate with each other to eliminate terrorism after talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif here.Reading out a joint statement, the foreign secretaries of both countries, Pakistan's Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhary and India's S. Jaishankar, said that the Modi-Sharif meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere.
Shanghai Cooperation Organisation decides to include India as full member
Ufa: Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) today decided to include India as a full member, prompting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to offer to work with the six-member grouping to enhance connectivity, combat terror and create an environment for boosting trade by easing barriers.
India, which has an Observer status for the past 10 years, will technically become the member by next year after completion of certain procedures.
BJP-led NDA trounces Lalu-Nitish alliance in Bihar, wins 13 out of 24 seats in Council elections
Patna: In a major setback to RJD-JD(U)-Congress alliance, the BJP-led NDA alliance has won 13 out of 24 seats in Bihar Legislative Council elections.
RJD-JD(U)-Congress alliance could manage to win just 10 seats.
An independent candidate Ritlal Yadav has won the prestigious Patna seat. Yadav is in Beur jail as on the charges of murder and kidnapping amongst others. The BJP has expressed happiness over the results.
Debris of missing CG Dornier located in TN sea waters
Chennai: After a little more than a month of intensive search, the debris of the missing Coast Guard Dornier aircraft and its Flight Data Recorder were located today off Tamil Nadu coastline, a top official said.
"We have found the debris of the aircraft and the flight data recorder of the missing Dornier today and it was found in the location of search along Tamil Nadu coastline somewhere off Chidambaram-Cuddalore," Coast Guard Inspector General Satya Prakash Sharma told PTI.
