Pichola Lake, Udaipur
Situated in the city of Udaipur in Rajasthan, Pichola Lake is an artificial fresh water lake, which was named after the nearby Picholi village.
Built in 1362 AD by Banjara, Pichola Lake comprises of two islands Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir.
Stretched across the range of 4kms, the surroundings and the several islands within the Pichola Lake have been developed over the centuries, comprising of various palaces, temples, mansions etc.
One of the famous palaces is the Lake Palace or Jag Nivas, which is located in the middle of the Pichola Lake on the Jag Island.
Although Udaipur is known as the ‘city of lakes', for having several beautiful lakes in the city, Lake Pichola is one of the prominent lakes of the city.
