4. Amber fort, JaipurFamous lyricist and Bollywood film maker scripted the light and sound show of Amber Fort.
It takes place towards the bottom of the Fort, near Maota Lake.
There's excellent use of special effects and acoustics, along with folk music and colorful lighting of various parts of the Fort, to bring to life the haunting commentary of historical tales and legends involving the 28 kings of the Kachhwaha dynasty.
5. Mysore Palace, Karnataka The forty minute sound and light show at Mysore Palace tells the story of the history of the Palace and its rulers.
Currently it's narrated only in Kannada (the state language), although Hindi and English versions are expected to be introduced sometime in the second half of 2013.
A big reason to see the show is the brief illumination (by nearly 100,000 light bulbs!) of the Palace afterwards, for five minutes on weekdays and 10 minutes on Saturdays.
The illumination only used to happen on weekends.
