IndiraGandhi International Airport, New Delhi
The primary international airport of the capital, Indira Gandhi International Airport, is the busiest airport of the country.
Named after the former Prime Minister of India, Smt. Indira Gandhi, Indira Gandhi International Airport is operated by Delhi International Airport Private Limited (DIAL).
With the emergence new Terminal 3, Indira Gandhi International Airport has become an important aviation hub, with a current capacity of handling more than 46 million passengers.
The airport handled 35.88 million passengers in the year 2011-12 and with the new planned expansion program; it will increase its capacity to handle 100 million passengers by 2030.
The Terminal 3 is the world's eighth largest passenger terminal.
Awarded the fourth best airport in the world by the Airport Council International, the Indira Gandhi International Airport, is a major hub for international flights, and now also includes shopping plazas, passenger lounges, retail outlets and Food courts
