VHP leader Pravin Togadia filed a counter complaint against Zakia Jafri, widow of slain Congress MP Ehsan Jaffery, and her son Tanvir, demanding their immediate arrest on Saturday in Ahmedabad.
Togadia, in his complaint, said Zakia and her son Tanvir be arrested immediately, as they had made wrong allegations against him.
The VHP leader said he never met or talked to either of the two and they still filed a complaint against him contending that he had threatened them.
Zakia and Tanvir, in their complaint given to state DGP yesterday, have stated that Togadia made a threatening statement against them after he deposed before the Special Investigation team (SIT) on May 10.
Talking to the media persons after his appearance before the SIT, Togadia had said that he would take "appropriate action" against Zakia Jafri and Teesta Setalwad, who filed petitions in the Supreme Court seeking justice for 2002 riots victims in the state.
SIT was formed to probe in post-Godhra riots by Supreme Court following a petition filed by Zakia.
"I want the police to launch a proper investigation and arrest the two because they have been making wrong allegations and filing false complaints against Hindu community," the VHP leader said. PTI
