Chennai, Jul 25: Tamil Nadu government yesterday allocated Rs 2,950 crore towards taking up various road infrastructure works.
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa approved the sum, nearly Rs 700 crore more than the previous year's allocation, under the Integrated Road Infrastructure Scheme.
The amount would be utilised for various purposes such as upgrading the quality of roads, two-laning of state highways and construction of bridges among others, a state government release here said.
