Days after she raised corruption issue in TMC, Mamata expels Baishali Dalmiya from party

West Bengal Chief Minister-led Mamata Banerjee's party Trinamool Congress (TMC) has expelled its sitting MLA Baishali Dalmiya from the party. The development has come after the lawmaker had raised corruption issues in the party.

West Bengal Chief Minister-led Mamata Banerjee's party Trinamool Congress (TMC) has expelled its sitting MLA Baishali Dalmiya from the party.

West Bengal Chief Minister-led Mamata Banerjee's party Trinamool Congress (TMC) has expelled its sitting MLA Baishali Dalmiya from the party. The development has come after the lawmaker had raised corruption issues in the party. Dalmiya from the party for 'anti-party activities'.

"I haven't received anything in writing about my expulsion. I got the information through news channels. I didn't understand party's operating system. I had joined politics to serve public and I will continue to do so," Dalmiya said. 

Legislature from Bally Assembly Constituency, Baishali Dalmiya in an exclusive conversation with India TV had said that some people in the party are hurting it from inside like termite. An anti-termite solution is necessary to save the party, she had said.

Her statements came after former cricketer and West Bengal Minister of State (MoS) for Sports and Youth Affairs Laxmi Ratan Shukla resigned from the Mamata Banerjee-led state cabinet. Shukla is MLA from Howrah North.

Speaking to India TV earlier, Dalmiya said she was feeling bad that Laxmi Ratan Shukla resigned from the Cabinet adding he was doing a good job. However, she did not comment on what would have been the possible reason for Shukla to take this step. She also did not comment on whether he will be joining BJP adding it would be his personal decision.
