Ranchi: Following is the timeline of Bihar-Jharkhand's infamous fodder scam in which two former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad and Jagannath Mishra have been indicted:
January 27, 1996: Scam surfaces. Crores of money from govt treasury given to non-existent companies for supply of fodder in faraway districts like Chaibasa. In one case, it was shown on paper that fodder for animals was supplied on a scooter.
March 11, 1996: Patna High Court directs CBI to investigate fodder scam
March 19, 1996: Supreme Court confirms high court order, asks a bench to monitor probe
