Kultali (West Bengal): One person was dragged by a tiger while another was injured while trying to save his companion at Benir Pheli jungle in Sunderbans Reserve Forest yesterday afternoon.
A forest official said Badal Naskar and Supriyo Naskar were catching crab when the big cat appeared and began dragging away Badal by neck.
As Supriyo tried to save Badal, the tiger pinned him to the ground but then left Supriyo and vanished with Badal in the deep forests.
Supriyo was later taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Till now Badal could not be traced by the search team comprising forest department and villagers living outside the forest buffer zone.
The duo hailed from nearby Kultali area of South 24 Parganas district.
