Mumbai, May 7: Mumbai police has come across three rape cases during the last 24 hours in the metropolis.




A 49-year-old woman from Howrah, West Bengal, who had come to Mumbai in search of livelihood, was robbed of her ornaments and raped in Matunga on Monday.

She was pesuaded by some people outside Dadar railway station to come with them to meet an employer, and taken to Matunga, where she was raped.

A four-year-old girl, who had gone missing from her home in Kandivali on May 4, was found in Malvani the same day. While police denied any sexual assault, her medical examination at Nair Hospital clearly confirmed rape.

A 22-year-old girl filed an FIR for rape against a jeweller saying the latter raped her for the past six months on the pretext of marriage. The man later refused to marry her.
