Greater Noida, Jun 28: Three members of a family returning to Delhi were crushed to death, and three others were critically injured when their i10 car hit a truck on the Yamuna Expressway near Sports City last night.
The car was being driven by a stockbroker Padam Verma, resident of A-162, Krishna Nagar, Delhi.
The car driver was trying to overtake a truck at a high speed, when the two collided. Padam Verma, 55, his wife Rani Verma and sister Geeta Verma died on the spot.
Three of their children Rajat, Aishwarya and Shobhit have been admitted to Kailash Hospital in Greater Noida, where the condition of Rajat is critical, said Dr Masudul Haq, CMO of the hospital.
The family was returning from Etawa Mainpuri after performing prayers at Sheetala Mata temple.
