New Delhi: The Third India-Bangladesh Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) meeting is scheduled to be held in New Delhi on September 20, a press communiqué by the Ministry of External Affairs said.

The meeting will be co-chaired by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Bangladeshi counterpart Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali.

The JCC was constituted under the Framework Agreement on Cooperation for Development signed during the visit of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Bangladesh in September 2011.

The first meeting of the JCC was held in New Delhi in May, 2012 and the second in Dhaka in February 2013.

The forthcoming JCC meeting will focus on review of progress on initiatives in various sectors of the relationship, identify thrust areas and give directions for further growth of the bilateral partnership.

During his stay in India, Ali will call on President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
