Mumbai: A 22 year old man Manoj Salve and his accomplice Prakash Chavan were caught bag lifting at an exhibition at NSE Grounds in Goregaon by guard on October 28.
As the guard caught the thief the crowd in the NSE ground started beating the thieves.
Both the thief were later arrested by the police.One of the thieves Manoj Salve died juts a day after the arrest .
Police officials said Manoj was rushed to Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle after he complained of uneasiness in the lock up but doctors in the hospital declared him dead as we reached there.
Now the investigation is on into the custodial death of the thief . This investigation has brought the 6 cops,who arrested the thieves in trouble.
Cameras at NSE Grounds and Hub Mall had captured the policemen thrashing the two men.
The footage shows a crowd beating up the duo and then a few policemen joining them. The policemen can also be seen dragging the two men towards police vehicles.
The investigation in the case is on.
