“We respect Balasaheb Thackeray. Nobody can even touch his stature.  On police request, my niece have her apology in writing. Psychologically, the two girls are traumatized, but we want peace in Palghar”, said Dr Abdul Dhadha.

Asked about Shiv Sena's objection to Shaheen's comment, Dr Abdul Dhadha, there was nothing wrong in the comment. I have treated so many politicians in my clinic. They told me there was nothing wrong.”

Communications and IT minister Kapil Sibal said, the police was in the wrong to have arrested the two girls for their Facebook comments.

“I think police did not understand the real import of Section 66A of the IT Act. We can't snatch away the freedom of expression of people. I condemn this arrest.”

Minister of state for IT Milind Deora said, this is a case of undue harassment.

It's necessary that the Home Ministry and the government of Maharashtra take action in this case, as neither section 66A of IT Act of sections of IPC are not applicable in this case, said Deora.
