New Delhi, Aug 27: Team Anna Hazare today said they have received a communication from the government that a resolution carrying their demands on Lokpal bill will be put to a voice vote, a move which they termed as a “very happy” development.

Fresh trouble emerged this afternoon after government decided only to convey sense of House to Team Anna and not put the resolution for voting, the activists hardened their position saying it was “betrayal” and only a resolution which will be put to vote will be acceptable.

This forced the government to change its stand.

The activist's camp said they have received the communication from the government about its decision to put the resolution to voice vote.

“We are very happy with the development,” a Team Anna spokesperson said.

Asked whether Hazare would end his fast today, the spokesperson said the decision will be taken by Hazare himself.

“Hazare will decide whether to break his fast today or tomorrow morning. Normally, he prefers to break the fast in the mornings,” the spokesperson said.

Earlier, Team Anna member Prashant Bhushan after talks with the ministers in Parliament House told reporters that they had been given a clear understanding last night that a resolution would be adopted after discussion, but today the government said, they had no plans to move any motion, nor carry out voting on it.

Prashant Bhushan, accompanied by Arvind Kejriwal, Medha Patkar and Manish Sisodia, said, this will be a very unfortunate reponse.

The whole object of today's discussion was to know where the various parties stand on different aspects of Jan Lokpal Bill, he added. PTI
