Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today directed Health and Family Welfare Principal Secretary to take immediate steps to fill up the posts in Tezpur Medical College, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College (FAAMC) Barpeta and Jorhat Medical College so that medical services function smoothly.
Following Gogoi's directive, Principal Secretary Sanjeeva Kumar held a high level meeting with Health and Family Welfare Commissioner and Secretary, Joint Secretary, National Health Mission (NHM) Managing Director and Director of Medical Education, Chief Minister Office (CMO) Spokesman said.
At the meeting a decision was taken to fill up the posts at the three medical colleges with immediate effect, the Spokesman said.
NHM MD will post 15 medical officers and a specialist at Tezpur Medical College; four medical officers and a specialist each in FAAMC Jorhat Medical College, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Health and Family Welfare (A) Department has posted four casualty officers and two lady casualty officers in Tezpur Medical College; four casualty officers in FAAMC and a casualty officer in JMC. The department has also posted two deputy superintendents in Tezpur Medical College, one deputy superintendent in the rank of SDMO in FAAMC, he said.
