The yoga guru Swami Ramdev on Tuesday alleged that a conspiracy  was being hatched to defame Hindu spiritual saints through character assassination.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Swami Ramdev said, though he wanted harsh punishment against the self-styled babas charged with sex trade, rape and murder, he has been told by some senior Hindu saints that a conspiracy was being hatched to defame some popular spiritual gurus.

The swami did not elaborate. He however reminded the media about the action taken against the Shankaracharya of Kanchi by the Tamil Nadu police two years ago as an example.

Swami Ramdev denounced Delhi's Icchadhari baba as a self-styled one and sought strong action against him. He also denounced a baba in Ghaziabad who is absconding with a girl. The swami however refused to comment on Swami Nityananda, about whom a sting video was telecast, saying, the law should take its own course.

Dwelling on his Bharat Swabhiman movement, Swami Ramdev demanded government should take speedy action to get back Rs 218 lakh crore black money supposedly stashed in Swiss banks.  He demanded  death punishment for black money hoarders and rapists.

The swami said, he planned to field honest and patriotic candidates for all the 543 seats of Lok Sabha  in the next elections. He hoped honest workers and leaders from other major parties would gradually join his movement.

Swami Ramdev criticized the acceptance of Rs 5 crore worth money garland by UP chief minister Mayawati, but he didn't name her. He said, leaders  should spend more for Dalits, rather than showcasing crores worth garlands. He demanded that government should discontinue printing of high denomination currencies and demonetize current high denomination currencies to flush out black money.
