Saharanpur, Jul 15: Munnalal, a resident of Mohalla Chhatta Jambu Das here, on Thursday night hacked his wife Asha to pieces and then commited suicide by hanging himself from a staircase, his family said.
Munnalal was married to Asha 14 years ago and, of late, he was suspecting his wife of having an extra-marital affair, police said. This has been disclosed in a suicide note left by Munnalal, says Deepak Ratan, SSP Saharanpur.
Munnalal has a son Ravi and a daughter Swati. Says Swati: "My father brought this sword a few days ago. He came drunk and attacked my mother with the sword, hacking her to piece and then hung himself."
