Cuttack: Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management minister Surya Narayan Patro yesterday hoisted the national flag here on Independence day yesterday.
Patro unfurled the tricolour at the Barabati Stadium here while paying rich tribute to freedom fighters.
The minister felicitated eight families of martyrs which was arranged for the first time by the district administration Patro unveiled a Braille work of Odia 'Barnabodh' (the foundation text of Odia language) prepared by a school teacher Sanyasi Behera.
Chief Justice C Nagappan hoisted the national flag in the Odisha High Court.
All judges, many members of the bar and staff also participated in the celebrations here.
