After Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, the 52nd Dai ul-Mutlaq (spiritual head) of the Dawoodi Bohra community, died on January 17, his half-brother Khuzaima Qutbuddin broke away from the family claiming that the late Syedna had secretly chosen him his successor 50 years ago.
