Shimla: Hundreds of students from the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) on Monday protested the fee hike decision taken by the government.
Students gathered outside the Secretariat building in the state capital and demanded immediate rollback of the fee hiked saying the move will be a burden on students in the government colleges.
The protest was led by the Students' Federation of India (SFI).
Students also raised slogans against the government as they show placards reading the decision should be withdrawn.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh assured the agitating students that he will look into the issue.
Students also said that if their demands are not fulfilled, they will launch a state-wide protest.
