The stir by Shiv Sena against Shah Rukh's film My Name is Khan has spread to Gujarat, with Vishwa Hindu Parishad deciding to join the agitation.

Bajrang Dal state leaders Ashwinbhai Patel and Amrit Singh Thakore told newsmen that most of the multiplexes in Gujarat have stopped taking advance bookings for MNIK. VHP and Bajrang Dal activists protested at several places in Ahmedabad and Gujarat.

VHP leader Praveen Togadia issued a call for boycotting MNIK and alleged that SRK was a sympathizer of what he called jihadis. Togadia supported IPL for boycotting Pakistani players saying that Indians cannot watch people from a country indulging in terror,  playing cricket here. Indians will never support pro-Pak supporters, he added.

Togadia said, his outfit was with Shiv Sena in opposing MNIK, but it was not in support of Mumbai for Marathis campaign. “Mumbai is India's commercial capital, and if a single party or outfit tries to monopolize, then we will not support that”, he said.
