New Delhi: A high-powered inter-ministerial committee constituted under the chairmanship of Urban Development Secretary has suggested measures for decongestion of Delhi, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
The committee has deliberated on the matter and the report is placed on Urban Development Ministry's website, Minister of State for Urban Development Babul Supriyo said in a written reply.
Major strategies recommended for decongestion of Delhi are bus service improvements, bus rapid transit system corridor development, integrated road network, intelligent transport system and capacity building programmes.
Officers from government of National Capital Territory of Delhi are included in the committee and their proposals/recommendations have been considered in the preparation of the report.
The committee has also suggested measures for parking pricing and management, multi modal integration, bicycle sharing, non-motorised transport infrastructure, and road retrofitting as per street design guidelines.
