Mumbai, Apr 14: A square in Mumbai's Santacruz has been named Mario Miranda chowk, with MNS chief Raj Thackeray attending the function today alongwith BJP leader Vinod Tawade and Goa deputy chief minister Francis D'Souza.
Raj Thackeray is himself a cartoonist like his uncle the late Bal Thackeray.
Raj Thackeray said, the nation had been ignoring its artistes since too long. Instead of renaming a square after Mario Miranda, government should have set up an institute in his name to teach students in the art of cartooning, he said.
