Kanpur: Aiming at raising awayness about keeping the city clean, the Kanpur administration will launch a special cleanliness campaign on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, officials said today.
The drive, called ‘Bhagidari Campaign' invites schools, colleges and other institutions to become part of it, and will even award participants based on their performance.
Due to lack of awareness among the residents, the city is becoming dirty. So, to make people aware and keep it clean we are starting this campaign.
The first phase of the drive will start on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, District Magistrate Roshan Jacob, said in a statement Thereafter, this will be carried further on a weekly basis, he said.
“All institutions who want to participate, have to register themselves online. Then, they must chose the spot where they wish to carry the drive. The participants will then have to click pictures of the spot, before and after the campaign and upload the same on the district administration website.
The campaign will start at 7 AM,” he said. Finally, the administration will visit the place and accordingly decide which organisations are to be awarded.
“The one's with the best work will stand out to be the winners,” he added.
The first position will get Rs 20,000, followed by Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 for second and third positions respectively.
