After endless rumours of her being billed as the next Bond girl, Freida Pinto is reported to have landed the role in the next Bond flick to be directed by Sam Mendes.
According to UK's Mirror, the Mumbai girl who skyrocketed to fame with the multiple Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire has signed a whopping £3 million deal to be part of the 23rd Bond flick to be shot in Afghanistan.
“Sam (Mendes) has been talking about Bond for months now and is so excited about it. The project has been in the pipeline for months and Freida was always the dream Bond girl, but initially she was nervous about accepting it,” a source is quoted as saying by the Mirror.
The movie will again have Daniel Craig playing the agent 007. Talks are said to be on with American actress Olivia Wilde to play the other female lead. She's play a double-crossing UN worker in Afghanistan.
The film's shooting is set to begin this summer. It will be shot on location in Afghan capital Kabul and at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.
“This is going to be the most ambitious 007 yet. Sam plans to reinvent the genre,” the source added.
