Patna, Jun 10: Six women sitting on the roadside on National Highway 31 this morning were crushed to death by a speeding Indica car driver near Gauri Chak.
All the five women died on the spot, while a sixth woman was taken in critical condition to NMCH Hospital.
All the five women labourers had to come to work on an onion field in nearby village. The car hit the women, then crashed into an electric pole and fell into a ditch.
The car driver escaped after the mishap. The local Block Development Officer reached the spot and promised to pay ex-gratia to the kin of those killed.
