Bangalore: A lower court yesterday convicted six persons, who were arrested in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a 21-year-old student of National Law School of India University (NLSIU) from Nepal last year.




The Fifth City Civil and Sessions Court Judge K B Sangannavar pronounced conviction of the six persons after their crime was proved.

The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on September 6.

The law student was raped by a eight-member gang inside the adjacent Jnanabharathi campus of Bangalore University in October last year.

The seventh accused Raja is still absconding. The eighth accused is a minor and the trial is going on at a Juvenile court in Bangalore.
