Purnea: A 12-year-old boy Chhotu Kumar was stripped, hung upside-down and beaten to death in front of his parents in Thadi village in eastern Bihar's Purnea district.
The crime of the boy was that he stole a packet of biscuits from a shop.
The two boys Chhotu and Pintu were rounded up by villagers after people caught them stealing a packet of biscuit from the shop.
A group of eight villagers ordered their parents to pay a fine of Rs10,000 for the act.
The poor parents of both the boys requested villagers to forgive them but villagers did not stop beating until Chhotu died. The other boy Pintu Kumar, survived but sustained severe injuries.
Police have launched a manhunt to nab eight villagers accused of killing the boy.
