Mumbai: Maharashtra government has proposed an elaborate security arrangement for the Chhatrapati Shivaji's memorial in the Arabian Sea off Mumbai. The security measures include CCTVs, bunkers, a system which will keep it invisible on radars, and an independent security unit.
These measures have been taken in the wake of a terrorist attack like 26/11.
The memorial which will become operational in 2019, is likely to attract nearly 1000 people will visit every day.
The project is being executed by the Public Works Department. The security budget for the 190 feet statue is estimated t be around Rs 1,900 crore.
PWD has been given environment clearance for this project. The tourists can board a boat to the statue from Gateway of India and Nariman Point.
