Bangalore, Apr 17: The deadly blast that rocked Bangalore today took place on a stolen red and black coloured motorbike, an Ind Suzuki vehicle with a fake number plated TN 22R 3769.




At 10:28 am in Malleswaram locality, 15 metres away from the BJP office, adjoining Gangamma temple and Sai baba temple, the explosion took place.

The bike was kept near a Maruti Omni van, which was completed gutted. Two cars on the left of the van were also gutted.

Karantaka State Reserve Police vehicle also bore the brunt of the blast, with 8 policemen injured. All windowpanes were smashed, and the two doors came off their hinges.

Policemen used pails of water to douse the blaze, as flames leapt up to at least four feet high.

From the dashboard till the seats, the cars were completed gutted. Even the steering wheel was fully burnt in the fire.

The attacker's motorbike on which the IED (improvised explosive device) was kept was broken into pieces, with the engine lying a few feeet away, and the footrest flew in the other direction. Both its tyres were burnt. The petrol tank fell in the other direction.

Today was the third anniversary of April 17, 2010 Chinnaswamy stadium blast in which ammonium nitrate filled inside a PVC pipe and linked with gelatine exploded. In that blast, a cellphone chip was used. In today's blast, a timer was used.

The nation seeks answers as to who were the conspirators behind these blasts.
