Thane: Thane cops are paying hard to the noise pollution as a recent report has revealed that 40 percent traffic cops are suffering from hearing problems.
The report came after performing audiometric tests on 556 traffic constables.
Tests were performed by the check-up camp conducted by the Thane traffic police in association with the Indian Medical Association and Association of Medical Consultants.
Doctors here found that large number of traffic constables are suffering from varying degrees of hearing loss because of the long hours spent at traffic junctions amidst severe noise pollution.
Previous noise pollution study revealed that noise levels on Thane's busy thoroughfares was above 90 decibel and at times it crosses even 120 decibel.
