Several thousand  Kashmiri Pandits on Monday celebrated Dussehra at the SRTC ground in Srinagar after a gap of 22 long years.  The last Dussehra was celebrated in 1987 in Srinagar's Iqbal Park.

Effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhkarna were set on fire on the same ground, where thousands of Kashmiris had performed namaaz on Id ul-Fitr a few days ago.

Kashmiri Pandits were full of joy as they lit the effigies which went up in smoke in a burst of crackers.

Most of the peope who gathered at the ground to wath the Dussehra recounted the peaceful days when Hindus and Muslims in the valley used to participate in festivals together.
