Rampur: Uttar Pradesh Police, still afresh with applause it received after cracking Minister Azam Khan's buffalo theft case, has now been trusted to investigate into a ‘mysterious' chicken theft'.

This time, His Excellency Governor of the state Mr. Ram Naik has entrusted the responsibility to the ‘super cops' of Rampur, the city known more for “Rampuri Chaku”.

Unlike the high profile “buffalos”, the chickens are owned by a common man of the town, all happens to be the homeland of the powerful minister.

The event started unfolding on the fate full night falling in between March 19-20 when 12 chickens from Farhanullah's rooftop went missing under mysterious circumstances”. The cops, when approached by the owner, refused to register the case.

Farhaullah, feeling helpless, approached His Excellency through his official portal. The Governor, who often targets Samjawadi Party's Akhilesh Yadav led government for law and order, took cognizance of the whole affair and wrote a letter to Rampur District Magistrate ordering him to investigate the matter.

Acting on the Governor's order, DM, without wasting a minute, passed the order to the Superintendent of Police (SP) to investigate the case on priority. The district police have been given five days time to recover the missing chickens.

These are the same cops who had acted swiftly when ‘VIP buffalos' were stolen. The police had deployed a strong force from dog squads to crime branch sleuths to recover Khan's bovines when they were stolen on January 31 last year.

The case was successfully cracked in almost in a year time.

It will be interesting to see if the police will succeed in recovering the ‘common chickens' in another five days.
