New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will soon be discharged from a hospital where he was admitted after he complained of pain in his abdomen, an official said on Thursday.
"It was a routine admission and tests have been conducted. He will be discharged very soon," an official said.
The Minister was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here on Wednesday evening after he complained of pain in his abdomen.
The official added Rajnath Singh will be discharged as he has to attend the Parliament.
Singh is a sitting Lok Sabha MP from Lucknow. He holds Home portfolio in Narendra Modi's Cabinet.
He had broken the record of victory margin held by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee from Lucknow parliamentary seat. Singh trounced Congress candidate Rita Bahuguna Joshi by a margin of 2.72 lakh votes. Vajpayee, who represented Lucknow when he became the prime minister, won the seat by a margin of 2.16 lakh votes in 1998.
