On Monday and Tuesday, the doctor couple from Noida Rajesh and Nupur Talwar were put through narco analysis in the presence of senior forensic officials and doctors from Gandhinagar Civil hospital, reports Times of India.
A crucial component of CBI investigations into the controversial Aarushi murder case is now with Directorate of Forensic Science (DFS), Gandhinagar.
Aarushis parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar were brought to DFS, by CBI officials on Monday. The parent duo, said sources, have been subjected to narco analysis and other forensic tests.
In January, a special court in Ghaziabad had given its nod to CBIs application for conducting narco analysis on the Talwars. Aarushi, 14, was found dead in mysterious circumstances at her residence in Noida in May, 2008. Domestic help, Hemraj, was also found murdered at the residence.
Rajesh was arrested by the Noida police in the initial stages of investigation and was later let off after CBI gave him a clean chit. In 2009, the couple was subjected to lie detection and brain-fingerprinting tests.
Later, the CBI accused other domestic helps Krishna, Vijay Mandal and Rajkumar in the double murder case but has not filed a chargesheet against them yet. Recently , CBI re-constituted the investigating team probing the case.
It now seems that CBI was not satisfied with the findings of these earlier forensic tests on Talwars. This, said sources, got the investigating agency to opt for narco analysis where the subjects will be administered truth serum and then grilled in a semi-conscious state where they will have little or no inhibitions to answer questions.
After preparing their psychological profiles the DFS officials with help of CBI investigators prepared a list of pertinent questions to be asked to the couple.
