Chapra/Patna: Train services resumed today through Chapra line under Sonepur division after clearance of debris from the track in the wake of derailment of New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani at Goldenganj station which killed four persons and left 23 others injured yesterday.

Both UP and DN lines have been opened for running of trains, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) East Central Railway (ECR) Arvind Kumar Rajak told PTI.  Sealdah-Ballia train, Arapali Express, Bihar Samparak Kranti and a few goods trains have gone through UP and DN line after restoration of traffic, Rajak said.

Commandant National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Vijay Sinha said that after meticulous search for trapped passengers in all the 12 coaches derailed or overturned by lifting them with the help of crane, the NDRF left the venue late last night.

NDRF had rushed its two teams comprising 100 officials for relief and rescue operation at Chapra after the mishap.  In Patna, Principal of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) Amarkant Jha Amar told PTI that all 14 injured passengers admitted were out of danger and recovering.

He said Railway officials have said they would be shifting them to Railway hospital this evening.  Railway minister Sadananda Gowda, who had visited PMCH last night on return from Rajdhani Express mishap spot, had ordered officials to shift the injured to the Railway hospital for better treatment.
