Jodhpur, Sep 29:  The Rajasthan government has issued a notice to nurse Bhanwari Devi, who went missing after a CD allegedly showing her in a compromising position with state minister Mahipal Maderna was circulated in the political circle, to resume duty with immediate effect.

Issuing a letter in this regard, Bilara block Chief Medical and Health Officer Pankaj Roy today said the move was initiated as she was absent from her duty since August 25 without giving any information.

It is evident that 36-year-old Bhanwari has been missing since September 1 but she had stopped coming to Jaliwara sub centre from August 25 without giving any information, Roy said.

Bhanwari's husband Amarchand had alleged that she was abducted at the behest of Maderna and his associates. The minister had, however, dismissed the allegation.

The government has handed over the case to the CBI. PTI
