Jaipur: Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha yesterday demanded 14 per cent reservation in employment and education for the community members in Rajasthan under the Economically Backward Class (EBC), as promised by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in 2003.
The organisation will observe "Sankalp Diwas" tomorrow in all district headquarters and submit memorandum to the district collectors pressing for its demand, Pankaj Joshi, its youth wing President, told mediapersons here yesterday.
Sankalp Diwas is observed to mark the police attack on SBM activists during an agitation on 19 August, 2007.
Replying to a question on the organisation's possible stand in the upcoming Assembly polls, Joshi said, "SBM will draw its poll strategy after taking into consideration the reservation issue."
SBM will also continue to press for its demand by holding "Brahmin Panchayat" across the state for next one month, he added.
