Mohali, March 31: As Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul sat in the 'aam aadmi' stands at the PCA stadium in Mohali for some time, there was an intriguing request from a software engineer from Bangalore, reports Times of India.
Girish Kopper, a software engineer from Bangalore, pleaded with Rahul to speak to his wife on his cell phone.
‘‘It's a question of saving my marriage,'' he joked. Rahul smiled back but before he could consider, the stern-faced SPG commandos put their foot down.
However, for a small bunch of spectators in Mohali stadium's Northern Pavilion, the highlight of the day came as first Rahul and then Sonia Gandhi slipped into the general stands, triggering a wave of mobile phones raised and switched on camera and video mode and tentative girls seeking autographs.
