Mohinder Kaur, a village resident said; "Sharif's father Mian Mohammad had attended my marriage. I am happy that I will be able to meet Sharif's family once before I take my last breath. I visited Pakistan three times since the Partition."

In Delhi, Shahbaz Sharif today had a merry ride on Delhi Metro and later met Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

Shahbaz later told mediapersons: "I was happy to ride your wonderful underground metro. Then we went to a plant that converts solid waste into energy. We also offered prayers at the Jama Majid.

"I have brought the message of goodwill from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for Indian prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

"This is a great opportunity to promote economic cooperation, and we prefer production over poverty, development over destruction. Whatever that happened in the past was unfortunate. We should become partners.

'We should take action to resolve our problems like Sir Creek, Kashmir, water issue, Siachen etc. Vision demands large heartedness and the new government in Pakistan has the desire and capacity to resolve the issues."
